Molex announced a long-term supply agreement with Prysmian to address the surging demand for fiber optic connectivity inside data centers. Fueled by rapid AI-driven data center expansions, Prysmian will supply optical cables to Molex for up to 10 years.

This agreement will extend production of optical cables and fiber in plants across the U.S., including the glass preform stage, doubling Prysmian’s domestic fiber capacity, and is expected to result in over 1,000 jobs created by Prysmian worldwide, including 600 jobs in the U.S.

This investment represents one pillar of the company’s broader global strategy to scale fiber cable supply. Increased access to expanded fiber-optic cable capacity helps hyperscalers and data center architects secure a reliable supply through Molex.
